Maycock dataset Entry Forms: ● Site_info_boreal: Entry form for data forms 1, 2, 9, 10, 12, 12a, 75, and 76 within the Boreal region. Any data form indicating species presence and/or frequency is relevant to this entry form. ● Site_info_SDF: Entry forms for data forms 1, 1, 2, 9, 10, 12, 12a, 75, and 76 within the Southern Deciduous Forest Region. Any data form indicating species presence and/or frequency is relevant to this entry form. ● Site_info_NCH: Entry forms for data forms 1, 1, 2, 9, 10, 12, 12a, 75, and 76 within the Northern Coniferous Hardwoods Region. Any data form indicating species presence and/or frequency is relevant to this entry form. Variable description within each form: Site info: ● Site number/ID: Identification number corresponding with the specific site surveyed. ● Site name: Name of the site surveyed– usually the name of the geographic location with which the site resides on. ● Date surveyed: The date the site was surveyed, recorded in YYYY-MM-DD. ● Size of stand: Size of the stand surveyed in acres. ● Forest type: A brief description of the ‘subtype’ of forest surveyed, respective to the region. ● Topography: A physical description of the arrangement of the landscape surveyed. ● Condition of stand: In-depth description of the stand. Could include dominant species, topography, disturbance history, spacing, vegetation presence, and succession information. Frequency: ● Site number: Identification number corresponding with the specific site surveyed. ● Type: Referring to the type of species being entered– e.g. Tree, Shrub, etc. ● Species name: The name of the species present at the corresponding site, written in its scientific form (binomial nomenclature). ● Percent cover: The percentage of quadrats the corresponding species is found in. ● Q: The marker if the general presence of a species. ● Q1-20: Marker of the specific quadrat that the species is present in. Ranges from 1-20. Miscellaneous objects in database: ● ******_summary: Summary of the sites surveyed within each region. ● ******_tree_data: Summary of tree and soil data respective to each region. ● Cryptogram_data: Species of possible cryptograms that may or may not be present in each region. ● frequency_*****: This table houses the species presence and frequency data for the respective region, ordered by site number. ● site_info_*****: This table houses the site information from data form 1 for each site within each region. ● species_****: This is the complete species list of all the species found in each region across all sites.
